Lab Exercise: Navigating the System

Grid and Edit Windows

  1. Log in to the system via https://mycbos.com/index.zul
  2. Use the side menu to navigate to Financials > Financial Data > Bank Accounts / Credit Cards
  3. You should now see a grid view, similar to a spreadsheet ?ClosedIf you do not see a grid view, you may be in an edit window (click on the “Back to bank accounts…” green left arrow on the upper left to get back to grid view) or a search filter dialog (Click the green checkmark in the dialog box to get to the grid view).
    1. Click on the BANK/CREDIT CARD NAME header to sort it alphabetically. Clicking again will change the order.
    2. Click on one of the rows in the first column. Note that:
      1. The fields have now become editable
      2. New menu items have appeared: RUN PROCESS, MORE OPTIONS, HISTORY and CUSTOMIZE
    3. Click on the CUSTOMIZE link
      1. You should see a Customize dialog box. Experiment with changing which fields display, and which order they appear in.
  4. Use the side menu to navigate to CRM > Customers
    1. Note that there are now three tabs available at the top of the main window: Main Dashboard, Bank Accounts/Credit Cards, and Customers.
    2. Click on one of the customer records/rows in the first column. Note that:
      1. The row is now darker gray, indicating that it is the selected row
      2. Additional menu choices have appeared
    3. Click on the MORE OPTIONS menu and select Edit
      1. All of the potential fields for the selected record are now available
    4. Click on the Contacts tab
      1. Note that the choices for selectable tabs have changed
    5. Click on the contact name, which should be in bold blue text to denote that it is a link
      1. Note that this is another way to reach an edit window
      2. Note the Customers | Contacts breadcrumb trail on the upper left that shows that we are now two levels deep: We are viewing the Contact portion of the Customer record. Note also that the words in the breadcrumb trail are links. (You can click on Customers to return to that window.)
  5. Click the BACK TO CONTACTS link with the small green back arrow on the upper left.
    1. This will take you back to the Contacts grid view.
  6. Click on the Customers tab
    1. This will return you to the Customers grid view

Filter/Search

  1. Start from the Customers grid view. (If you are not there now, just open a new grid view by using the side menu CRM > Customers)
  2. Click on the FILTER green funnel icon on the upper right
  3. Experiment with finding customer names using the Name field.
    1. Note that any contiguous part of a name can be used, including a space
    2. Suggestion: Start with a single “e”, then add letters before and/or after to note the results.
  4. Click on the round green plus icon to the right of “More Parameters”
    1. Note the additional searchable fields
  5. Navigate to Sales > Transactions > Invoices, and select the filter there.
    1. Note the “.. to ..” text under the “Date Invoiced” field. Clicking here will allow you to enter a date range.

System Menu

  1. In the SYSTEM MENU box at the top of the browser window, type in the text “cust”.
    1. Note that this will bring up a series of choices matching that string, as with the Name field in the Filter dialog.
      1. Clicking on one of the lines in the drop-down will take you to that window
      2. The choices in the system menu include windows that do not appear in the side menus

Quick Links

  1. Select the “Main Dashboard” tab
  2. Look for the ADD field in the Quick Links box.
  3. Type in “Customers”.
    1. This works to the System Menu. Select the first instance of the word “Customers”.
    2. Click ADD
    3. Note that there is now a link beneath the box that will take you to the Customers window
    4. Delete the link using the red X
